Happy Semana Santa!
Even though our original plan was to be in La Saladita for at least a month, we had an offer we couldn´t refuse...to CARAVAN!! We met a great couple at the beach, Tiffany and Danny, and after getting to know them in Saladita decided to travel inland together. We were drawn by the chance to be a part of some of the celebration surrounding Semana Santa, the Mexican Holy Week that begins today on Palm Sunday and goes through Easter. A smaller mountain town called Uruapan is where we are now calling home. We´ve been here three nights now and are around town today soaking up the excitement around multiple street processions of indigenious people in beautifully colored costumes and traditional dress, that will kick off the weeklong celebration.
From here we are planning to visit a volcano just outside of the city that buried two villages back in the 1940´s. Then are headed to a town called Paracho that is world renowned for making stringed instruments. We are possibly in the market for a Mexican guitar, one more thing for us to learn along the way...

Happy Easter! Have a great time with your new friends. Enjoy the new adventures and post some photos when you can. I can't wait to see how dark you both are!!
