Headed South (really)

Hello from sunny Tucson, AZ...

YAY! We are truly headed south and made it through a big night last night a good drive today to get from SLC to Tucson today. We spent the first night in the van last night since we left Idaho before Christmas. We drove over a pass just outside of Cedar City, UT that had what looked to be about 10 feet of snow piled on the side of the road. It looked taller than the van in places anyway! Ended up camping on the other side of the pass after giving a big "holler" into the Grand Canyon...at night with a full moon on it was quite a sight. It was still snowing by the time we rolled into Flagstaff this morning...but the snow stopped on the other side of the city and we've officially hit some warm weather. It's still in the 50's here in Tucson after sun down! Such a strange feeling.

We just treated ourselves to a nice Italian dinner at a small restaurant in the heart of downtown. Met some really nice people that gave us nothing but good wishes (and some free food!) for our trip. Are taking care of some last minute business tonight and are crossing the border manana!!

Love,
The Eagles

Buenos dias mi amigos! Looks like you are well on your way. I just got back from the cruise-absolutely fabulous weather! My favorite part-the rainforest in Honduras. Try to check out a couple during your adventures. I'm sorry I didn't get to catch up completely before you left but I love you guys-stay safe. Let me know if you need anything.

Happy traveling Eagles...your departure from the Kan couldn't have been timed better. The winter dump has not been this extreme in recent memory. There's 14 inches, thus far (that's what she said) and another 12 or so on the horizon. Be safe down there. Supposedly, there's a bad strain of chewing gum south of the border. Stay away from the brown chiclets. They are not the cure for the Mexicali Blues. Keep me up to speed.
